Let’s get into all the amazing things about Arizona!
Transportation: We went with an airport taxi. Arrived at the resort in about 15min.
Weekend in Arizonia:
This was a quick, and I mean- less than 72 hours quick weekend trip to Arizona. Originally, we planned to visit an island in the Caribbean but due to most hotels, resorts and even air-bnb’s being sold out- we went with Arizona.
Our flight on Delta Airlines to Arizona landed in Phoenix around 10 a.m. When we arrived, our room was not ready, however- we didn’t have to wait more than 20 minutes until we were able to check-in to our room. While waiting for our room, I asked the concierge for recommendations for tours to the Grand Canyon. They were able to get us the last two seats available!
Friday during the day- we enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and dinner at STK.
Saturday Tour: This Grand Canyon and Sedona Tour started early at 6:30 a.m. pick-up time. This was an all-day tour bus ride with DETOURS American West, the tour guide/driver was absolutely, amazing! Her name was Diane- she was extremely knowledgeable about Arizona. On our way to the Grand Canyon, we made a stop near the Navajo Indian Reservation and arrived at the Grand Canyon before 10:30 a.m. We were able to explore all day, part of our time was with Diane (the first 20 min.) for some great photo ops; we hiked around and half-way down the Grand Canyon, bought a few souvenirs and headed for the bus around 2:30 p.m. We arrived in Sedona around 4p.m., our first stop was at the Cowboy Club restaurant (highly recommended) - we tried a delicious appetizer sampler. This sampler included cactus fries (so yummy, my favorite paired with the cactus sauce), rattlesnake sausage, bison brochettes, cilantro flatbread, prickly pear cactus sauce, southwest peanut butter, raspberry plum BBQ. We returned to our hotel around 7:30pm, we ate dinner at McArthur’s Restaurant located at the resort. The full-day tour to the Grand Canyon and Sedona was worth the time and money spent.
Sunday morning, we headed back to the airport for our flight back to the east coast. Arizona is a great place for a short or extended weekend trip. This resort is worth visiting more than once! Add Arizona to your vacation destinations, or couples get-away.
